Your new career in Coreso - Service Development Intern

Coreso, a Regional Coordination Center (RCC) based in Brussels, plays a key role in ensuring the stability and security of Europe’s electricity system. Every day, our international team collaborates with Transmission System Operators (TSOs) across Europe to manage cross-border power flows and support the energy transition.

To support our mission, we are looking for an intern to join our team, with a focus on Clean-Energy Package,  Offshore services and TSOs coordination.

Let us give you a preview of your internship!

As an intern in our Service Development department, you’ll join  our team working on tasks related to the clean energy package. Specifically, you will work on:

  • Developing a dashboard to forecast renewable energy drop-offs due to the negative market prices.

  • Contributing to the coordination of North Sea HVDCs, helping to relieve grid constraints on the mainland.


You’ll be encouraged to share your ideas, take ownership of your projects, and actively communicate with the members of all department.

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to:

  •  Acquire your knowledge of the European electrical grid

  •  Expand your expertise in renewable energy sources, with a special focus on offshore wind farms

  •  Strengthen your coding skills

  •  Acquire or strengthen your understanding of the energy market

  •  Develop technical skills in data analysis, forecasting, and the implementation of dashboards and toolkits for offshore wind generation

  •  Learn about constraint relief and coordination through HVDC coordination

  •  Improve your communication skills: you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, participate in meetings, and ensure alignment with IT infrastructure requirements

Job requirements

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who can take initiative but also enjoys collaborating in a team. Someone motivated to find a solution, and excited to help shape how to manage constraints through HVDCs coordination in the North Sea and to forecast sudden drops of generation due to storm cut-offs and negative market prices.

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • Studying Engineering, Energy and electrical engineering is a plus

  • Curious about how Transmission System Operators and Regional Coordination Center work in the EU context

  • proven experience with Python

  • Comfortable in English

  • Motivated to take initiative and learn by doing

  • Available for 3 to 6 months (start date flexible)
