As a System Engineer, you will play a key role in providing expertise in system administration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, automation, and security hardening. Your contributions will be essential in enhancing system reliability, optimizing performance, and driving the continuous improvement of Coreso’s services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

  • Perform system administration tasks, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning, to maintain a stable and efficient environment.

  • Implement and manage automation tools such as Ansible to streamline system provisioning and configuration management.

  • Enhance system security by applying best practices, security controls, and proactive threat mitigation measures.

  • Manage and optimize an in-house Kubernetes cluster for container orchestration and workload scalability.

  • Oversee and fine-tune on-premises environments running CentOS and RedHat to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation scripts to simplify and improve system management processes.

  • Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends by continuously learning and applying the latest best practices and emerging technologies.

Job requirements

What are we looking for?

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 5+ years in Linux system engineering or administration.

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux distributions such as CentOS and RedHat.

  • Scripting & Automation: Experience with Bash, Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.

  • Configuration Management: Strong knowledge of Ansible.

  • Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and load balancers.

  • Security: Familiarity with Linux security hardening techniques and compliance standards.

  • Containers & Orchestration: Experience with Kubernetes cluster management.

  • Storage & Backup: Knowledge of RAID, LVM, SAN, NAS, and backup solutions.

  • Monitoring & Logging: Experience with tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or ELK stack.

  • Version Control & CI/CD: Experience with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification such as RHCE, RHCSA.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and DevOps methodologies.

  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
