Senior Service Engineer - Application Management

The Senior Service Engineer – IT Application Management ensures the robustness, coherence, and long-term sustainability of Coreso’s application landscape that supports its coordination services. The role builds solid experience in IT service management and application governance and moves beyond operational follow-up to include ownership of application design principles, vendor integration, and service management frameworks.

Embedded within the Services Development domain, the role acts as a bridge between application behaviour, operational needs, service evolution and IT technical aspect. Senior Service Engineers translate service requirements into clear application management standards, ensure that vendor-supported solutions align with Coreso’s operational reality, and safeguard the consistency of application services as the organization grows in complexity.

The role combines hands‑on technical insight with a strong ability to structure, challenge, and improve how applications are monitored, governed, and integrated. It plays a key role in anticipating risks related to application dependencies, vendor performance, and service continuity, and in ensuring that application management considerations are embedded early in projects and service evolution initiatives.

The Senior Service Engineer act as reference points for application related decisions, supporting both SD and OPS teams by providing clarity, structure, and reliable frameworks—without holding formal people or project management responsibility.

Your role as a Senior Service Engineer consists of the following responsibilities:

• Own and evolve application management frameworks supporting Coreso’s services.

• Define and enforce consistent IT Service Management (ITSM) principles across applications.

• Ensure application design, operation and support models remain aligned with service and operational needs

• Define monitoring standards, performance indicators, and alerting principles for critical applications.

• Ensure performance dashboards and reports enable effective operational decision-making.

• Act as primary technical counterpart for vendors supporting Coreso applications.

• Challenge vendor proposals and deliveries against Coreso’s service and operational requirements.

• Ensure alignment between Services Development, OPS, IT, and data teams on application behaviour and priorities.

• Represent application management perspectives in project

• Define standards for documenting application services, monitoring setups, and vendor interactions.

• Support onboarding and knowledge transfer related to application management practices.

• Identify opportunities to improve application governance, monitoring, and vendor coordination.

• Drive structural improvement initiatives within application management scope.

What are we looking for?

• You hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in IT engineering, applied mathematics or a related technical field.

• You bring substantial experience (typically around 8–10 years) working with Application governance, monitoring, performance & reliability;

• You bring substantial experience (typically around 8–10 years) working with any IT Service management (ITSM).

• You are comfortable working with complex analytical problems and translating them into practical methodologies or solutions.

• You communicate clearly and can explain complex technical concepts to different stakeholders, both internally and externally.

• Understanding of power systems, electricity markets or grid operations, knowledge of TSOs, RCCs or other actors in the European energy ecosystem are both an asset.

• Fluent English. Any other European language is an asset.
